On World Post Day, observed annually on October 9th, the Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE) underscores its essential role in safeguarding the privacy and security of communications within an increasingly digital and dynamic environment.
Central to ADAE’s mission is its commitment to strengthening partnerships with postal service providers, with the goal of fostering a more secure, interconnected, and sustainable postal sector. This includes the development of innovative business models that incorporate digital and environmental skills, known as "Digigreen" skills, which are crucial for enabling the postal industry to meet the challenges of the digital age.
Empowering Postal Sector Employees with Training and Skills Development at a European Level
In line with these efforts, ADAE is collaborating with other key stakeholders to establish a pan-European online training platform tailored for postal service providers. The platform is designed to provide training and certify essential skills for postal employees, while also introducing micro-credentials to support continuous professional development.
As part of the “DigiGreenPost: Towards a More Digital and Greener Postal Era" Project this platform will deliver modern curricula and pilot training programs aimed at enhancing the employability of workers in an increasingly digital marketplace.
Recognizing the growing need for specialized expertise, ADAE is also advocating for the creation of a new professional role across Europe that of the Security Officer. That will help postal service providers respond effectively to the heightened security demands driven by the broader digital transformation of urban areas.
Celebrating 150 Years of the Universal Postal Union
ADAE supports the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Established to foster multilateral cooperation and innovation, UPU continues to play a vital role in the evolution of postal services and ensuring international accessibility.
